Arc welding equipment is a product with a large quantity and a wide range of specifications, gradually approaching international standards. The market share of high-efficiency, energy-saving, material saving, and consumption reducing products will further expand. To meet market requirements, adjust product structure and improve product quality, it is advisable to vigorously develop inverter welding power sources and automatic and semi-automatic welding machines, especially high-efficiency and energy-saving carbon dioxide welding machines. Resistance welding technology focuses on medium and high power as its main research content and development direction. Microcomputer controlled quality monitoring for resistance welding, inverter resistance welding technology, intelligent and expert systems, flexible resistance welding equipment, and resistance welding robots are important research topics and professional production directions. The development of resistance welding machines specifically designed for welding requirements of coating materials, aluminum alloy materials, and precision parts has attracted more attention. The development of testing technology and testing equipment will be conducive to promoting the improvement of enterprise processes and technological levels. Electromagnetic compatibility technology will be promoted and applied in welding equipment. Electromagnetic pollution has been identified as the fifth largest source of environmental pollution, and the problem of electromagnetic environment is becoming increasingly prominent. The welding equipment industry urgently needs low-energy, green and environmentally friendly products. After their promulgation and implementation, these standards will change the situation where domestically produced products cannot enter the international market on a large scale due to incomplete testing indicators. Automated welding technology and equipment are developing at a rapid pace. The development of large-scale national infrastructure projects such as the Three Gorges Project, the West East Gas Pipeline Project, aerospace engineering, and shipbuilding engineering, as well as the rise of the domestic automotive industry, have effectively promoted the development and progress of advanced welding processes, especially welding automation technology. Welding robots and intelligent welding will also be appropriately developed in specific fields and widely applied. The demand for complete and specialized welding equipment will continue to increase, with a wider range of applications and higher requirements for its technical performance. Equipment that meets efficient new processes will become more mature and popular. Domestic complete welding equipment manufacturing enterprises also need to make efforts in enterprise quality management, selection of various basic and supporting components, and strive to achieve new breakthroughs in specialized and complete welding equipment.
